AI visibility: how ChatGPT & co. read and recommend your website
More and more people ask AI assistants instead of search engines. VisualClicks shows how often AI crawlers read your pages, how many visitors come from ChatGPT, Perplexity and others – and what those visits bring in.
AI crawlers read
Which bots fetch which pages how often – GPTBot, ClaudeBot, PerplexityBot, Bytespider and more.
AI recommends
Visits from answers in ChatGPT, Perplexity, Copilot, Gemini and Claude as a channel of their own.
AI brings revenue
Orders and revenue from AI visits – in the e-commerce report and in the contribution margin.
AI assistants as a channel of their own
In many tools, visits from AI answers disappear under “referrals” or “direct”. VisualClicks recognises them as the “AI assistants” channel with their source and analyses them like any other channel: pages, funnels, orders, revenue and contribution margin.
- “AI sources” card for any dashboard
- Anomaly detection for AI traffic, too
Crawler requests a browser tracker never sees
AI crawlers do not run JavaScript – they are invisible to pure browser trackers. Your server therefore reports the requests directly through the server API; alternatively you upload an access log in “combined” format (Apache, nginx) and VisualClicks imports the crawler requests.
- Requests per day, split into AI crawlers, AI live fetches and search engines
- Per crawler: count, pages read and last access
Does your website let AI assistants in at all?
A single line in robots.txt can lock AI crawlers out. The domain check tests for the most important AI bots whether they may read your pages, and whether an llms.txt exists that explains the structure of your website to AI assistants.
- Rules per AI bot in robots.txt
- Check for llms.txt and sitemap
- Structured data per URL in the URL check
Frequently asked questions
Which AI assistants does VisualClicks recognise?
Visits from ChatGPT, Perplexity, Microsoft Copilot, Google Gemini and Claude are captured by their source as the “AI assistants” channel – including the orders and revenue of those visits.
Why can’t a JavaScript tracker see AI crawlers?
Crawlers such as GPTBot, ClaudeBot or PerplexityBot load the page but do not run JavaScript. That is why your server reports their requests through the VisualClicks server API – or you upload an access log.
How do I make my website easier for AI assistants to read?
The domain check shows whether your robots.txt blocks AI crawlers and whether an llms.txt exists; the URL check reviews structured data and content of every page. Optimize lets you add structured data.
